- In bed – 9.52pm
- Lights off – 12.17am
- Woke up – 9.28am
A day of some work and writing and quite a bit of playing games, including a fair amount of GTA V. Dream prep and awareness as much better though, a physical reminder (elastic band a little too tight around some fingers) really does the trick. Will use it again. In-bed wasn’t so good though I think I fell asleep pretty quickly.
Dreams
5.22am – This dream was set in a jungle somewhere with me joining a team of army guys. For some reason I went rogue and began to sniper kill the rest of the group. I hit one guy who then bled out in another person’s arms. It was even more heartbreaking when we learnt that he was a few hours from going back home to his wife and kid. I felt pretty rotten about it when I woke up.
9.28am – At my old high school (where else?) playing in the championship game of basketball (what else?). Time runs out and I take the last shot of the game… it bounces of the rim (need I say more, dammit!) But my team begins celebrating, and I look at the scoreboard to see that we were two points ahead the whole time and the last shot didn’t matter anyway. We leave still celebrating and I am giving another student there a lift home., in my old car, but with my new license plate number and a flippy key that is very strange. At some point along the drive we lost the car, as we were walking along the pavement with an Asian man, who was far too old to be in our class, yet he was a student with us. He was telling a very long winded story about a friend’s son who was a semi-pro footballer, being scraped on the shin in a match and having a blood blister filled with infected blood. They didn’t think anything of it for a while and eventually the leg grew a layer of fat over the blister and it was sealed in, the kid died. This was a relevant story as I remember (though I’m pretty sure it was just a dream memory, and didn‘t actually happen) a lesson earlier that day about this very subject, and I knew he was right because my girlfriend had even told me similar stories from a hospital she was working at (again dream memories).
